Powerboat racing is the core of it. Hydro Storm 2, Speed Boat Extreme Racing and Top Boat Water Jet Sky Simulator Racing 3D all model the same central problem: at full throttle the hull is barely touching the water, and a steering input at that moment has almost nothing to work against. Lifting before a turn, then reapplying power once the boat is pointing where you want it, is the technique that works across all of them.
Jet skis are lighter and change direction far more willingly, which makes them forgiving to steer and unforgiving about speed — a turn taken hard scrubs off momentum that takes the whole straight to recover.
Two games here have no engine at all. Canoe Sprint and Rowing 2 Sculls are timing exercises, where an even rhythm moves the boat further than frantic input, and both are quietly among the more demanding games on this site.
At the other end sits Super Yacht Parking, which removes the brake entirely, and a group of water-surface car games where the track floats on the sea and falling off is the only failure state.

Water racing is a smaller genre than road racing and this section reflects that honestly — nineteen games rather than fifty, because the ones that are not good enough have been left out. The powerboat games are the strongest group and the place to start. The rowing and canoe games are the most demanding and the least obvious, and both are worth ten minutes even if the idea sounds dull. The water-surface car games are novelty, and enjoyable on those terms.
