Water Slide Car Race

The premise is cheerfully absurd — cars racing along water channels while yachts sit in the background — and the game plays it straight. The channels behave like tracks, the cars behave like cars, and the water is mostly there to look impressive.

Where it becomes interesting is the width: the channels narrow at the corners, and the natural line takes you closer to the edge than is comfortable.

Runs are short, and the presentation carries a simple game further than it would otherwise go.

Environments change between runs, from open water to channelled sections lined with moored boats.

Cars differ in top speed rather than handling, which keeps the focus on the line.

1. Take the inside of narrowing corners.
2. Keep off the edges where the channel drops away.
3. Accelerate out of turns rather than into them.
4. Finish the course ahead of the rivals.
