Truck and Monster Truck Games
This section is new to the site and it covers everything with more than four wheels or an unreasonable amount of them. Eighteen games are listed, and they fall into two clear groups that have almost nothing in common except size.
The first group is monster trucks. The second group is working trucks. City Truck Driver, Real Cargo Truck Simulator and Euro Truck Simulator Cargo Truck Drive are transport games where the load, the length of the vehicle and the route are the whole difficulty. Cargo shifts weight under braking, trailers cut a wider line than the cab, and reversing into a loading bay is genuinely harder than the drive that preceded it.
Between the two sits a small set of specialist machinery, including Real Construction Excavator Simulator, where driving the machine and operating its arm are separate skills.
If you are new to the working-truck games, the useful habit is to start turns earlier than feels necessary. Almost every failure in that group comes from the rear of the vehicle taking a tighter line than the front and catching a kerb, a post or the edge of a bridge. The cab camera helps more than the external one, which is the opposite of most driving games.
All of these run in the browser with nothing to install. The monster-truck games are comfortable on a touchscreen; the cargo simulators benefit from a keyboard, where small steering inputs while reversing are much easier to make.
One thing worth setting expectations on: none of these are the large desktop trucking simulators, and they do not try to be. Routes are shorter, the maps are smaller, and the economy behind the deliveries is simple. What they do carry over is the part that makes the genre work — the sense of moving something heavy through a space that was not designed for it — and they do it in a browser tab without a download or a licence key.
