Tuning is where the time goes. Gearing, tyre pressure and power all interact, and a car that leaves the line brilliantly can run out of gear before the finish. The career gives you enough runs to notice the pattern and enough money to fix it.
The two-player mode strips all of that away and leaves the launch. It is the fairest test in the game — same strip, same lights, and no way to blame the setup.
Sessions are short and the ladder is long, which is exactly the shape a drag racer should have.

- Build a car in career mode and run it as it comes.
- Adjust gearing if the engine hits the limiter before the line.
- Launch on green with the revs in the marked band.
