The top-down view removes the guesswork: you can see the whole corner and the car ahead at the same time, so the game becomes about placement rather than reaction. Passes are planned two turns before they happen, which is unusual for a browser racer.
Upgrades are split across engine, gearbox, steering and brakes, and each one changes a different part of the lap. Braking upgrades feel like nothing on the straight and everything at the end of it.
