Professional cycling rendered as a contact sport. You ride in a pack, and the rear wheel can be swung into a rival to unbalance them — which is exactly as unsporting and as satisfying as it sounds.

Underneath the mischief there is a real pacing game. Sprinting early empties the rider, and the pack closes on anyone who has spent everything before the final stretch, so the winning move is usually made later than instinct suggests.

Controls are the same on desktop and phone, and the touch version loses nothing.

1. Sit in the pack early instead of leading.
2. Use the rear wheel to unsettle a rival who is boxing you in.
3. Save your effort for the closing stretch.
4. Cross the line first to take the stage.
