Trick scoring is what shapes the riding. Each jump is an opportunity to add rotations, and the score only registers on a clean landing, so the interesting decision is always whether to add one more.
Tracks are deliberately awkward, with gaps that arrive immediately after a landing and leave no time to reset. Riders who chain tricks well are the ones who land early rather than high.
The bike itself is light and rotates quickly, which makes over-rotation the most common failure.
