Freestyle means no start line and no rivals: an arena, a set of ramps, and a scoring system that cares about what you do in the air. The truck rotates slowly enough that a flip has to be started early and committed to.
Ramp placement rewards planning a sequence — hitting one from the right angle sets up the next, and a good run links three or four jumps without touching the ground awkwardly in between.
Landing on the wheels is the only requirement the game actually enforces, and it enforces it strictly.
